Dr. Cunningham is Professor of Nephrology at the UCL Medical School, London; Consultant Nephrologist at the Royal Free Hospital, London, and The London Clinic; and Physician at the King Edward VII Hospital, His early training was in Cambridge and Oxford Universities, with postgraduate training in The University of London and Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, USA. Dr. Cunningham is recognized for his work in nephrology, renal and transplant medicine and general medicine. He has extensive experience in the fields of hypertension, renal stone disease, acute and chronic kidney disease, renal transplantation and dialysis, and metabolic bone disease.

An Oxford University graduate and appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO), Dr. Cunningham has participated in an array of postgraduate clinical and research appointments in Oxford, London and the United States. He has been published in excess of 100 peer reviewed scientific literature articles, is a visiting professor to various universities in Europe, Australia, and the United States, a member of numerous international expert panels and working groups, and a national and international lecturer.
