Research Associate – Level
2 - Markham location
Reporting to the Director, Research,
the successful candidate will work as part of the Research
and Development team
providing competence in histology and immunohistochemistry
to support non-clinical and clinical studies. Specifically,
the candidate will be responsible for the development of new
methods and implementation of histology and immunohistochemistry
assays for the analysis of samples from animal studies.
Essential Duties:
- Preparations of samples for future staining
or immunohistochemistry readout
- Develop efficient histology
and immunohistochemistry methods for the characterization
of in vivo animal study samples.
- Validation and development
of new assays.
- Perform literature searches and generate
reports/SOPs.
- Perform data interpretations and troubleshooting.
- Prepare
and present project data and supporting information.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Masters degree in biochemistry, pathology
or related discipline with 1- 2 years experience
- Experience
with tissue sample preparation
- Proven strong expertise in
method development for histology and immunohistochemistry
assays.
- Excellent oral/written communication and
interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to excellence and teamwork.
- Attentive
to details, good observation skills.
- Good organizational and
time management skills.
