Cynthia Lavoie, MBA, PhD Director

Dr. Lavoie is a Partner with VG Partners, Part of VenGrowth Private Equity Partners Inc., and co-heads The VenGrowth Advanced Life Sciences Fund Inc. Cynthia works closely with company management lending her technical and financial expertise to operations as well as financing, merger and exit transactions. She is currently on the boards of Aegera Therapeutics, Axela, Cytochroma, Interface Biologics, Trillium Therapeutics and Zelos Therapeutics. Cynthia's prior experience includes positions as Investment Manager with the OGI where she initiated a seed financing program and as Marketing Strategy Consultant with Vasogen, a medical device and therapeutics company (merged with Intellipharmaceutics). Cynthia is an accomplished academic with over ten years of research experience having completed her Ph.D. (honours) at McGill University in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a fellowship at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. Cynthia also graduated with first class honours (Bregman Scholar) with an MBA from the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management.
