Alan
Lewis, PhD
Chairman
Dr. Lewis is
the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation as of January 2009. Previously, Dr.
Lewis served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director
of Novocell, Inc. since February 2006. Prior to Novocell, Dr.
Lewis served as CEO and Director of Signal Pharmaceuticals
before its acquisition in 2000 by Celgene, a biopharmaceutical
company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization
of small molecule drugs for cancer and immunological diseases.
He then served as President of the Signal Research Division
at Celgene. Dr. Lewis previously held the position of Vice
President of Research at Wyeth-Ayerst, where he spent 15
years leading research efforts in diabetes, CNS, cardiovascular,
inflammatory, allergy, and bone metabolism diseases. Dr.
Lewis also currently serves as a Director of BioMarin Pharmaceutical,
Inc., and BIOCOM. He holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the
University of Wales in Cardiff and completed his postdoctoral
training at Yale University.
Charles
W. Bishop, PhD
CEO and President, Cytochroma Inc.
Dr. Bishop has served
as President and CEO of Cytochroma since June 2006, bringing
a wealth of management experience in the pharmaceutical industry
across multiple disciplines including Research & Development,
Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and Business Development.
Dr. Bishop co-founded Proventiv Therapeutics, LLC in September
2005 where he served as President. Proventiv Therapeutics,
LLC was acquired by Cytochroma Holdings ULC in June 2006.
During the period of September 1987 to June 2005, Dr. Bishop
held various senior management positions at Bone Care International,
Inc., a public specialty pharmaceutical company focused on
developing and commercializing vitamin D hormone therapies.
Dr. Bishop’s positions with Bone Care included President,
CEO, Director, Executive Vice President of Research and Development,
and Chief Scientific Officer. Under Dr. Bishop's direction,
Bone Care advanced a portfolio of proprietary vitamin D hormones
and analogs to varying stages of development for SHPT, metabolic
bone disease, psoriasis and cancers of the prostate, breast
and colon. Dr. Bishop was responsible for the successful
preparation and prosecution of three NDAs that ultimately
led to FDA approval of a novel vitamin D drug, named doxercalciferol,
for SHPT in dialysis patients (Hectorol® 2.5 mcg Capsules
and Hectorol® Injection) and pre-dialysis patients (Hectorol® 0.5
mcg Capsules). Prior to joining Bone Care, Dr. Bishop held
various management positions in the Health Care Division
of the Procter & Gamble Company. Dr. Bishop completed
a four-year National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellowship
in vitamin D Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
and received his Ph.D. degree in Nutritional Biochemistry
from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University,
after earning an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the
University of Virginia.

Seiichi
Kiso, PhD, MBA
Director
Dr. Kiso joined Tanabe
Seiyaku Co., Ltd. in 1982, where he served in managerial
positions across Product Development, R&D Planning,
and Corporate Development & Licensing. He
has been General Manager, Business Development & Licensing
Department, at MTPC since October 2007. Dr. Kiso
received his MSc from Kyoto Pharmaceutical University,
an MBA from Kobe University, and a Ph.D. from Nagoya University
School of Medicine.

Luc
Marengère, PhD
Director
Dr. Marengère joined
VenGrowth Capital Management Inc. in 2001, and has since
led the growth and management of the VenGrowth Advanced
Life Sciences Fund. He brings a comprehensive knowledge
of many therapeutic areas, as well as breadth of strategic
expertise in the biotechnology industry. During the last
10 years Dr. Marengère has worked with a broad
range of opportunities and was involved in positioning
many of those companies towards financial exits. Dr.
Marengère possesses extensive sector-specific
transactional experience. Dr. Marengère also conducted
commercial research at Amgen in the fields of immunology
and oncology. Dr. Marengère has served as a Director
on Boards of the Company and Canadian-based companies
and is currently a Director on the Boards of Aegera Therapeutics
Inc., Z-Tech Canada Inc., Trillium Therapeutics Inc.
and Cytochroma Inc. Dr. Marengère holds a Ph.D.
in Medical Biophysics and Molecular Genetics from the
University of Toronto.

Joseph
Regan, MBA
Director
Mr. Regan is a Vice
President, Investments at GrowthWorks Capital. Joe joined
GrowthWorks in early 2003, bringing 15 years of life sciences
venture capital and pharmaceutical industry experience.
He has been active in both company creation and the strategic
growth of portfolio companies. Joe brings a wealth of knowledge
to numerous GrowthWorks’ investee Boards, including
Targeted Growth Inc., Aegera Therapeutics Inc., Viron Therapeutics
Inc., Cytochroma Inc., Receptor Therapeutics Inc., Sampling
Technologies Inc. and Dynacon Inc. Additionally he manages
and Chairs the Sunnybrook Working Ventures Medical Breakthrough
Fund. Joe has an Honours BSc (with distinction) from the
University of Guelph and an MBA (Dean's List) from McMaster
University.

Ulrik
Spork, MSc
Director
Mr. Spork led
the establishment of the new venture investment activities
in Novo A/S at its start in 1999 and is since then Senior
Partner in Novo Ventures. Prior to the formation
of Novo A/S, Ulrik spent nine years in Novo Nordisk A/S,
from 1994 as director of Corporate Development. In this
capacity he was involved in that corporation’s
strategy building and restructuring process and managed
a number of acquisitions and divestments. Furthermore
he was in charge of Novo Nordisk's equity investments
in biotech companies and spinouts, including the 150
MUSD private placement in ZymoGenetics, Inc. Before
joining Novo Nordisk, Ulrik spent seven years within
the Vickers Plc Group, engaged in product development,
international marketing and business development in the
health care area. Ulrik Spork received his MSc
in Engineering from the Technical University of Copenhagen
in 1984, holds a BSc in International Economics from
1991 and has attended supplementary courses both within
the Novo Group and at institutions such as Harvard and
Stanford Business School. He presently serves on
the board of directors of Celltrix AB and Light Sciences
Oncology, Inc., and is a former director of CardioOptics,
Inc., Corus Pharma, Inc., Novexel S.A. and BioImage A/S.
In addition, he is deputy chairman of the Danish Venture
Capital and Private Equity Association (DVCA).
